Become a Member of the
Woman's Club of Hollywood today!
The Woman's Club of Hollywood has been invested the the culture of the city since 1905. The Club built the first Hollywood Public Library, were founding members of the Hollywood Bowl and the Hollywood Studio Club (where actresses like Marilyn Monroe and Kim Novak lived), helped organize the Hollywood Bowl Easter Sunrise Services, and so more – before women were even allowed to vote! Old Hollywood stars were heavily involved with the Club, including Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Gloria Swanson, and Charlie Chaplin.
Our Members were also invested in the Hollywood School for Girls, which shares the property with our current Clubhouse. Some of the original structures still stand. Famous students included Jean Harlow and Carole Lombard, and its teachers included Charles Laughton and Edith Head before she went to work at Paramount. Between the two landmarks, there is a tremendous amount of important history at 1749 N. La Brea Avenue.
We invite both men and women to become Members and join us in protecting the legacy of the Woman's Club of Hollywood. By joining the Club, we also invite you to share your ideas and be part of a thriving community.
